Oases Graduate School

Explore New Ideas ..... Make a Difference!

The oases Studies in Integrative and Transformative Learning
for Personal, Social and Global Wellbeing.

Join a ‘community of learners’ who come together to share in the experience of collaborative learning, dialogue, and self- reflection.

In oases we are pursuing an organic integration of the aesthetic, the spiritual, the ecological and the social as a response to the various predicaments within which we seem to find ourselves at present across the spheres of our lives.

The accredited oases Masters Degree in Integrative and Transformative Studies supports and facilitates integrative and transformational learning for the practice of personal, social and global wellbeing.

What people say .....

A post graduate course course outside the usual offerings!

Lisa Moore Year 2

"In 2009 I started with oases and was very excited as I had been looking for a post graduate course that was outside the usual offerings. Right from the first session I was challenged to think, and my learning journey began.

Now at the end of the 1st year I can see  transformation is occurring and my life is more integrated. Before my life was rather bitty where separate parts of the whole that is the work, study, home, creative & social lives competed with one another.

While I'm not completely there I have found that my work, study and creative lives are better integrated and I've released some of the blockages to do that.  I can't wait to see what the next two years brings."

A Sonnet for now

Participant work 2006
(to be read out loud and slowly)

Here, is a space where,
Life stage, age and gender
Are noticed not implored,
Where new borders are created and old boundaries explored,
Where cutting honesty disarms us
And given gentleness delights
As we struggle in excitement
Late and long into the night.

Hear – the oases of this, our yearning,
As answers become questions
And questions quiver in our light.
And here, we will not tip toe lightly
Nor hide from horror or delight.

Why am I doing oases?

Learning for the sake of living.

Participating and contributing to a forum for thought, discussion and ideas, rather than focusing on finding the 'correct' answers.

To cultivate 'conscious thinking' and 'conscious doing'. "

      oases is enjoyable .....

    David Buller Year 2

"oases is the most enjoyable thing I've become involved in for years. The people are quite varied in background and experience. Very open minded and they are often engaged in society in constructive and rich ways. We all learn together, the Graduate School lacks the hierarchical formality and market driven ethos of too much of the learning machinery that predominates in Australia in what passes for higher education.

oases is a collaboration that is replicated in a few institutions around the world. Still oases links with the vital parts of education in remote and urban Australian settings.

oases is not for seekers after the status quo but rather for those engaged in a transition to a just, sustainable and participatory future."
