Philosophy & Inspiration
participation integration transformation
oases aims to provide an open, safe presence within which participants and scholars come together to endeavour to:
· Engage in learning models that embody and support self awareness and relationship as prerequisites for transformative living.
· Engage in learning models that promote enlightened learning and living necessary for healthy self-emergence and social relationships.
· Offer a continuum of learning within communities that are pre-figurative of enlightened social structures and processes.
· Make transparent the external communal/societal fields, based on critical social theory and historical understanding.
· Reclaim and link contemporary knowledge with ancient earth wisdom and mysticism as integral to vocational, soulful and ecological sustainability.
· Contextualise leadership as an internal emergent formation and process.
Participation where there is participation there is relatedness. The oases program focuses on collaborative learning, dialogue, and self-reflection. It encourages participants to bring their experiences into the educational process to grapple with contemporary dilemmas through communicative learning. Participants are encouraged to draw from the arts and from spiritual traditions in their learning.
Integration we can no longer afford to be divided. oases creates and integrates knowledge beyond the confines of traditional disciplines to provide education for a changing world. oases values cultural diversity, multiple ways of knowing, spirituality, a sense of social & ecological sustainability, in the joyful presence of a reflective and innovative learning community.
Transformation where there is relatedness there is transformation. The oases program aims to support participants to facilitate personal and social transformation. By focusing on the development of capacities to envision, initiate, and engage in transformative change processes, reflection and theory are united with practice.
